MultiPhy joins OpenOptics MSA – to realize 100G and 400G Data Center solutions

Palo Alto, CA – June 4, 2015 – MultiPhy Inc., a global leader in DSP-based high bandwidth CMOS communications semiconductors for Data Center Connectivity today announced it has joined the OpenOptics MSA. The OpenOptics MSA is an industry organization created to form a solid foundation for scalable next generation Data Center optics for 100G, 400G, and beyond.

The first focus for the OpenOptics MSA will be the definition of a 1550nm QSFP28 optical transceiver for 100G Data Center networks on single mode fiber (SMF) infrastructure. While 1310nm and 850nm optics tends to dominate in current Data Center infrastructures, very high bandwidth out of the Data Center and within the Data Center dictates that 1550nm fibers, with their WDM capabilities, will also get deployed in next gen Data Center builds.

MultiPhy will work with other industry players to contribute to this community and drive high spectral density and low cost Data Center solutions. MultiPhy’s DSP technology enables 100G single wavelength solutions that achieve superior performance, power, footprint and cost efficiency for Data Center connectivity.
